All Papillionaire Bicycles come with a LIFETIME warranty on frames and forks.
All other components are warranted for one year from the date of purchase. This only applies to failures or defects arising from normal, everyday use of the bicycle. Tyres and inner tubes are not included in this warranty.
Papillionaire Bicycles works on a policy of fairness. We often go above and beyond what is strictly required to ensure that our customers are happy. Customer satisfaction is our primary concern.
Please note that Papillionaire Bicycles will replace frames at its discretion and surface rust is not included in this warranty. From time to time Papillionaire discontinues particular bicycle colors or models. In this case, replacements will be the current frame design and not an exact duplicate. However, we will not replace your bike with a model of lesser value.
This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or damage resulting from accidents.
This warranty does not cover any personal injuries, damage to or failure of the bicycle or any other losses due to accident, misuse, neglect, abuse, normal wear, improper assembly or improper maintenance. An approved helmet should be worn at all times. Your state and local helmet laws can be found here.
Gil - Boy Wonder from Downunder!
Gil arrived stateside in 2013 with the sole intention of expanding Papillionaire Bicycles across North America. If you come by our Brooklyn store, you might see Gil staring into a laptop full of numbers. What is he actually doing? It’s a secret. Only he knows. Rumor has it that it has something to do with a global Papillionaire bicycle takeover!
Celia - Caffeine Addict in Residence
At any given time, Celia has one- or two- coffee cups on her work bench. As Papillionaire’s head mechanic, she’s always on the go, which is where the caffeine comes in. Celia stumbled upon a love for vintage bikes while in college and has been working as a mechanic for the last 10 years. She’s now undertaken a PhD in Environmental Economics, which goes hand-in-hand with riding her bike around Brooklyn, if you think about it.
Kevin hasn been biking in Brooklyn since 2008. If you don’t see him riding in Prospect Park or cycling down Kent Ave, he’s probably on tour with his bands, Rivergazer or Porches. Kevin is responsible for shipments and builds, so you’re most likely going to find him at the warehouse. Beyond rock music and bicycles, Kevin has an undying love for Pad Thai.

Take these simple steps to prolong the life of your bike and get the most out of your ride;
1. Keep your bike dry and clean. Riding in wet weather is fine but leaving your bike constantly exposed to the elements will decrease the life span of leather components and moving parts.
2. Check your tyre pressure regularly. We recommend that your tyre pressure is between 55 - 65 psi. This will ensure a smooth, easy ride and maximum traction.
3. Lube the chain every 1 - 2 months. A well lubricated chain will last longer and decrease drive-train wear. You can purchase lube from your local bike store. We recommend 'dry' chain lube as it is less likely to get on your clothes.
We recommend you have your Papillionaire Bicycles serviced at your local bike store at least every 6 months.
We ship bicycles & accessories directly to your door. Your bicycle will be delivered to you in a flat pack, 80% assembled. We will provide you with instructions so that you can complete the remainder of assembly. Papillionaire mechanics are available by phone Tuesday - Sunday in order to answer any of your assembly questions. Just call 718-422-0787 otherwise please see our assembly video here.

Papillionaire sources the highest quality components for all bike parts. This includes steel pedals, crank arm, cogs, fenders, brakes, brake cables and mudguards - NO nasty plastic bits! Our hubs are from renowned, leading brand, Shimano.
At Papillionaire our friendly mechanics are available 6 days a week to answer any questions or provide any assistance you may require. They can talk you through pumping a tyre or installing a basket. No question is too trivial!
We invite you to compare the quality of our bicycles with others on the market.
